Chasing the fall food chain

Chasing the food chain
If you love topwater bass fishing, the fall is your best time of the year

The most important tool in finding and catching Bass is knowing how to find your lake’s food chain.  If the lake is cooling down, it’s time to stop fishing far off shore and concentrate on my favorite area to fish and that is close to shore.  When the food chain is shallow the fish become easier to catch and easier to find.

If you love topwater fishing like I do, it’s best to get busy now.  The transition from late summer to easy fall is by far my favorite time to go fishing.  Why?
All the bass food chain is close to shore and stacked up.  That means Topwater is now an all day deal, not just early morning.

Just do what we do at Bigbassbaits.net.

  1. Scout major creek arms to find food chain.
  2. Use the wind because it bulldozes more and more bait fish
  3. Rig 3 rods with your favorite topwater baits:
    1. Bigbassbaits - Zara Spook Style
    2. Following with multi-blade spinning baits
    3. Close with suspending natural shad colored jerkbaits
**Remember the shad are now big from growing all year,
     so Match the Hatch
